An absolute novelty. From Monday 12 to Sunday 18 August the Trekking Italia, ICSE & Co and AssoAlbania associations propose a trip that not only reserves a wonderful trekking in wild and undiscovered landscapes, but also ancient flavors of the authentic cultures of the local inhabitants untouched by destructive modernity.
The special trekking package was born from a two-year collaboration between the Trekking Italia, ICSE & Co and AssoAlbania associations for the promotion of tourism to Albania. Everything started from a simple certainty: going on vacation in Albania means finding a territory that offers much more than what you imagine at the start.
The wonderful Albanian Alps, the historic cities, breathtaking trails of Albania and Kosovo, discovering wild landscapes and authentic beauty, experiencing a special experience in close contact with nature and the inhabitants, finding boundless landscapes, ancient forests, rivers from crystal clear waters and cursed peaks, is what the Trek Albania-Kosovo package proposes.
The itinerary starts from Monday 12 August until Sunday 18, and winds between Albania and Kosovo with a route that starts from the Illyrian Scutari and continues to the alpine pearls of Theth: the natural parks of Theth and Valbona in the extreme north-east of Albania, from here it continues in Kosovo on Lake Koman passing through the mystical city of Gjakova to reach the millennial city of Prizren.
Finally a quick return to Tirana. The whole trip is organized by experienced Italian and local trekking guides. Internal transport, meals and overnight stays are included in the participation fee (see instructions below).
Not a mass tourism - therefore - not a tourism where every single hour is in detail predictable, but a journey to discover the "land of the living past" as defined by Edith Durham, between "the majestic nature and the genuine life", one of those trips that pull you into a vortex of wonder without too many pretensions.
