2018: an invasion of foreign tourists
Albania is increasingly becoming a country preferred by foreigners, both for tourism and for work or business visits as well as for medical services. The data from the Albanian Institute of Statistics (Instat) show that in the first three months of the year, therefore January-February-March, about 677.000 foreign citizens arrived in Albania; a value that has recorded an evident increase (+ 12,5%) compared to the same period a year ago.
Data which, according to forecasts, should increase even more during the summer season, considering that already many hotels have been booked, mostly by citizens of the Nordic countries and by Ukrainian citizens (also increasingly attracted by Albania).
