There will be both Albanian and Italian joint patrols in the Albanian coastal tourist areas to assist and help increasingly growing visitors who come from Italy to visit Albania.
This is the agreement reached today between the Italian and the Albanian Ministry of the Interior. The main purpose will be to offer more assistance to Italian tourists and which also foresees the use of the patrols of both countries from 16 July to 31 August, in the main destinations such as Durres , Vlora e Saranda .
According to the agreement, the Italian police officers will carry out their patrols on foot, dressed in uniform, and will help the Albanian police officers to facilitate the contacts of Italian tourists with the Albanian authorities. In addition to the latter the contacts between the two parties will be facilitated with the Italian diplomatic and consular missions in our country.
The Italian embassy in Tirana, in fact, has committed itself to making available to Italian tourists, who will visit Albania, the entire consular network in the capital Tirana and Valona, offering them the opportunity to consult all the information necessary for their travel. However, Italian visitors must necessarily register and leave their personal data in a specially dedicated portal.
2018: Italian tourists in Albania already growing
The summer season has just come to life and - as very predictable - will record a new record of tourists. The data published by theAlbanian Statistics Institute (Instat), in fact, concerning the first four months of this year (January-February-March-April) they showed how compared to the same period last year there was already a total growth in 7%.
Specifically, Italian tourists have already registered a + 5,6% compared to the first four months of last year, behind only Polish tourists (+ 33%) and Kosovar (5,9%) and a total of 79.423 compared to 75.183. Encouraging numbers for the entire Albanian tourism sector and which show that at the end of this summer the growth in terms of tourists will be even greater.
