Last year, according to official data from the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), Albanian companies had a total turnover of around 16 billion (2037 billion lek).
Also for the 2018 this list concerning the Albanian economy is dominated by companies in the fuel sector, banks, construction companies and state monopolies.

Leads the ranking of the companies with the most turnover "Kastrati": the wholesale fuel import company has a total turnover of around 500 million (62.2 milardi di lek), thanks also to the increase in oil prices on the international exchanges which has increased the turnover of the companies they import the product.
OSHEE - the state-owned electricity distribution operator - takes second place behind Kastrati with a total turnover of around 443 million, ahead of the BKT bank, ranking third in this ranking with a total turnover of around 361 million euros in the 2018.
Podium of the turnover that, therefore, contains the same businesses of the 2017 but in different order: last year's data, in fact, reported that in first place was OSHEE, with a total turnover of 440 million, according to the BKT, with a total turnover of 370 million, and the third Kastrati, with a total turnover of around 340 million euros.
In the top ten companies for turnover there are also new-entries: for example, Western Atlas International, a Fier-based company operating in the hydrocarbons sector and ranked fourth in the 2018 with a total turnover of around 290 million EUR.
Then immediately followed by the company "Spiecapag Shqiperia" - contractor company of the trans-Adriatic pipeline (TAP) - and "Bankers Petroleum", a company that is carrying out excavations in the Patos-Marinzes oil field.
The top ten ends with the steel company "Kurum", the oil company "Genclaudis" and the Albanian electro-energy company (KESH).
In terms of net earnings, however, it is the two state-owned companies "KESH" and "OSHEE" that lead the ranking. Last year, the latter ranking was led by the BKT, followed by Raiffeisen Albania and OSHEE.
