Albania has seen a clear growth in terms of data on culture (specifically visits to museums, theaters, etc.): data from the Albanian Statistics Institute (Instat), in fact, show that during the first quarter of the 2018 (January-February-March) there was a growth of 73,4% in visits to cultural institutions.
Value consequent also to the growth in the number of exhibitions-exhibitions in the first quarter, which amounts to 344, the 61,5% more than in the same period of the previous year.
The national experimental theater is the institution that has achieved the highest number of exhibitions-exhibitions (207) in the first quarter and, also for this reason, holds the record of 40.555 visitors in the first three months of this year, in growth of the 197,2 % compared to the first quarter of the 2017.
Following are the national folk theater (with 13.963 visitors, + 13,4% compared to 2017) and the national opera and ballet theater (12.256 visitors, + 57,6% compared to 2017). The only cultural institution that has registered a negative value is the national center of culture for children, which with 6.339 visitors in the first quarter of the 2018 marked an 19,9% compared to the same period of the 2017.
Instat: data on museums, archaeological parks and various monuments
Even the data concerning visitors in museums, archaeological parks and various monuments are on the increase. In first place are museum visits, which amount to 24.477 well in the first quarter of this year, 84% compared to 2017.
Castles and other monuments follow, with 18.075 visitors in the first quarter of the 2018, up 39% from a year ago. Finally we find the archaeological parks, which with 13.872 visitors have registered a growth of 61% compared to 2017. In total, the numbers concerning these historical-cultural places, compared to the 2017, rose by 62%, going from 34.895 of the 2017 to 56.424 of the 2018.
National Library: numbers falling
The only cultural place to have recorded only negative data is the national library. The latter was far less frequented in the first quarter of this year than a year ago, recording a -86%.
Also the publications of the national library (-62,8%) are decreasing, both for new books (-63,3%) and for new editions of existing books (-62,7%).
