For some years now a Klubi i Futbollit Elbasani coat of arms has been shooting, which infuriates the fans of the Vllaznia Shkodër. On this logo is written "1913" as the date of foundation of the great club of Elbasan, which was the first to break the Tirana-Scutari axis in the championship (in force in the 1934-1983 period; in the 1933 the title was won by the Skënderbeu Korçë) and in the Cup of the Republic (1939-1974).On the contrary, as we all know, the first oldest and most active Albanian club is the Vllaznia Shkodër 16 February 1919 founded.
Reading the beginning of the page of 'Futbolli në Elbasan 1913-1998', an excellent book written by the former referee 'elbasanas' Dhimitër Bardhi in the 2001 for the types of the Silver publishing house in Elbasan, makes us better understand how things are: "Futbolli elbasanas është ndër më të hershimit në vendin tonë. Ai lindi në vitin 1913. Por para këtij screws në Elbasan kishin ndodhur dy ngjarje të rëndësishme të cilat krijuan kushte që futbolli të niste rrugën and tij and të mos ndalej kurrë deri në ditet tona ». That is, football appeared in the 1913, but a club was not born that year.
Further on, Bardhi tells us that the Afërdita sports club was founded in the 1917; on the encouragement of the Austro-Hungarians present there was also put on the football team. In the 1922 the Studenti was created and the 16 October 1923 had the Sazani life: both sports clubs with football teams. The 25 May 1927 another club was born, the Djelmënia. And in the 1929 the Kont Urani, in honor of one of Skënderbeu's sons. In the 1930 some dissidents of the Kont Urani broke away from the company and founded the Vapa, in the same way that some members of Milan in March 1908 had left the company to establish Inter. But it wasn't over.
Still in the 1930, another team was born, the Skampa. The 6 April 1930 kicked off the 1st Albanian National Football Championship in which the Urani (ex Kont Urani) took part in the city of Elbasani, which finished fifth out of six teams with seven points in ten games. Meanwhile in Elbasan - testifying to the infinite passion of this city for football - there were many more teams: Sajde, Tregtari, Përparimi, Shpresa and Donika Shënkoll.
Regarding the II National Albanian Football Championship 1931, Bardhi writes on p. 17: "Gjatë çfletimit të shtypit të këtij screws vemë re se skuadra and Elbasanit herë thërritej me emërin" Urani "herë grupi i Elbasanit dhe herë" SK Elbasani ". Kjo sa për ta ditur and për të mos ngjall diskutime ». Besnik Dizdari in his authoritative 'Historia e Kampionateve të Shqipërisë. Vol. I: Vitet '30' (Albin, Tiranë 1999) tells us in the pages from 35 to 47 that the name of the Elbasan team is: SK Elbasani. I, who am a far-flung passionate and expert in Albanian football, think that in the 1931 the registered team was the Urani who, however, had borrowed players from the many teams in the city and therefore had given himself a "deontological" name that included the entire district and not the Urani in particular. I think that Bardhi and Dizdari also agree with me.
But let's proceed.
19 January 1932, under the direction of the Prefect of Elbasan, a meeting was convened between two sports clubs in the city: Urani and Skampa. The assembly finally established the union of the two associations in one, which had the name, this time official, of Sport Klub Elbasan. From this date the club that we now know as Klubi i Futbollit Elbasani was born. Over time it had the following denomination changes. In the 1933 up to the '39, he adopted the name of Bashkimi Elbasanas after the confluence of the Djelmënia and other minor ones. From 1939 to '44: Liria.
Refounded in the 1945 between Afërdita + Përparimi + Ylli i Lirisë + Fitorja. From the 1945 to the '48: Bashkimi Elbasanas. From the 1949 to the '50: Elbasani. From the 1951 to the '58: Puna Elbasan. From 1958 to '91: Labinoti. And from this last date as we know it today. [In the two photos, the one on the left is the real emblem of the Elbasani team, while the one on the right is the indicted] So the oldest Albanian football club in operation is Vllaznia and not Elbasani. I give an example. The Sampdoria of Genoa, formerly vice-champion of Europe in the 1991-92, was founded by the fusion of Sampierdarenese (f. 1891) and Andrea Doria (f. 1895); since the union took place in the 1946, the date of foundation of the new company is, precisely, the 1946 and not the 1891.
The first match in the history of Albanian football was played in Scutari by a team from this city in October 1913: Indipendenca Shkodër-Imperial Marina Austro-Hungarian-Hungarian 1-2, a meeting organized by Palokë Nika, also author of the Albanian network.
So it should be the Vllaznia to put "1913" in the coat of arms and not the Elbasani, if we want to match the year with the appearance of football in a place and not with the foundation of a club. I say this out of intellectual honesty and an ancient lover of Albanian football.
