As foreseen by the penal code on violence in the stadiums and in sport in general, which came into force last October, two citizens were stopped and accompanied by the police to have launched plastic bottles in the two matches played so far in the new one "Air Albania Stadium", Or Vllaznia-Apolonia (women's championship) e Albania-France.
The two citizens (one of whom is a minor), as announced by the police, were identified through the camera system specifically installed in the new plant in the capital. Similarly, other citizens who have damaged the seats of the Air Albania Stadium have also been identified.
The penal code amendments introduced in October provide for up to 5 years of imprisonment for acts of violence against arbitrators, coaches, players, etc. and from six months to three years of imprisonment for pyrotechnic material launches or various objects in the field.
Rama: zero tolerance for violence in the stadiums
Last in March, following the infamous note Partita between Kamza and Laçi, he had already stated - before the changes introduced in the penal code - that the violent would be stopped and punished criminally:
” Stadium violence can no longer be tolerated. The state police and the FSHF do not have to discharge the blame but collaborate. The return of the police in the stadiums would require the amendment of the law. I think it is important for the police to be included but it is equally important not to focus on this alone.
The concern remains in sports facilities. There are many systems that do not have the minimum safety parameters. We need to ensure monitoring with surveillance cameras. Technology allows it.
We will intervene directly with the penal code. Field invasions will be punished with three years in prison. This will only be the first step. ”- the prime minister had stated.
