Igli Tare, current sports director of Lazio, completes 25 July 46 today. On his birthday, we retrace the highlights of his career, first as a footballer and then as a sports director.
Igli Tare's career
It grows and is formed in the youth of Partizani Tirana where it also debuts among the professionals in the 1993-1994 season.
The following year it was bought by the German club Waldhof Mannheim: from here they will begin a long swirl of transfers that will see it as protagonist, in addition to the shirt of the Waldhof Mannheim, also with those of Ludwigshafen, Karlsruhe, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Kaiserslautern. Just with the latter he makes the definitive leap in quality that allows him in the 2001-2002 season to move to Serie A at Brescia, where he finds players of the caliber of Roberto Baggio and Luca Toni.
Not only that, because in Brescia he knows and meets Carlo Mazzone for the first time, who will soon become one of his greatest admirers. The Italian coach, not surprisingly, brings him with him in the 2003-2004 season in Bologna, where in two seasons Igli Tare realizes 11 goals including the one in the playoff salvation at Parma of the season 2004-2005, goal frustrated by defeat rossoblu suffered at home in the return match.
In the 2005 he passes to Lazio, the most important stage of his career, not so much for the three years as a footballer (four goals in total, including a good overturned run for Ascoli) but for what will follow as a managerial role in the role of area coordinator technical-sporting director.
The 20 Aprile 2009, in fact, obtained in Coverciano the diploma of sports director with the highest marks, officially becoming the right shoulder of the biancoceleste president Claudio Lotito. In June of this year he refused the offer of Milan's sporting director, swearing loyalty to the Capitoline team.
The rest, like the great activity in the recruitment of players that has led over the years between the Lazio players like Hernanes, Keita Balde, de Vrij, Luis Alberto, Felipe Anderson, Milinkovic-Savic and Strakosha, is a known story.
I Tare in the National team
With the Albanian shirt Igli Tare played 68 games (eighth with the most appearances ever) scoring 10 goals and wearing the captain's armor on four occasions. He made his network with the senior national team in the 1997, during the defeat for 3-4 suffered at home by Germany valid for the qualifications to the world championship of France 1998. During qualifying for the German World Championship of 2006, instead, he achieved his first historic double win in the home victory for 3-2 against Georgia.
With the ten goals scored with Albania in his career, Igli Tare is in seventh place in the all-time ranking like a legend like Sokol Kushta and behind Erjon Bogdani, Alban Bushi, Ervin Skela, Altin Rraklli, Hamdi Salihi and Armando Sadiku.
