The initiative started from Entiana Osmenzeza, immediately found the support of Ronald Bukri, Ardit Curri, Lul Vulashi e Gentian Shehi, all resident in Tuscany, but sensitive to the fate of the country of origin. Dinner will take place on 31 January in the restaurant, and revenues will go to the families of the earthquake victims of Albania.
The consequences of the earthquake in Albania
We still live in fear that slowly begins to mingle with the hope of reconstruction. The earthquake in Albania caused 51 deaths, more than a thousand injured and thousands of damaged homes. A situation that triggered an unprecedented competition of solidarity, but currently many families are still in tents despite the government's effort to find suitable locations.
The earthquake also highlighted the country's difficulties in facing similar situations, the fragility of the rescue system, the search for survivors and the administration of first aid. Italy was among the first countries to offer its support with its rescue units, mindful of the disasters experienced on its soil. The proximity between the two countries has always facilitated mutual exchange and that 26 November was testimony to it.
It is in this context that the Albanian chefs who live and work in Italy have organized themselves to offer concrete help to their homeland, and bring some comfort to those who have been left homeless.
How did the idea of Albanian chefs come about?
Entiana Osmenzeza she was invited to participate in a gastronomic event by the chef Bledar Kola, but the plans change and she finds herself cooking under the tents set up for those who were left homeless. She considers herself lucky to have a home where she can return but wants to give help to the most unfortunate. This is why he organizes the meeting scheduled for January 31 in San Gimignano, Italy. He talks about it with Ardit Curri, Ronald Bukri, Lul Vulashi and Gentian Shehi, all talented Albanian cooks who live and work in Italy.
Ardit Currri has made its restaurant, San Martino 26, available in San Gimignano (). To support them there will also be sponsors, companies that support the initiative by offering their contribution so that the event has the deserved success.
