It has been online for a few days the petition asking "Apple Maps" to separate Kosovo from Serbia and to show the border line between the two countries.
On the application of Apple, in fact, the border line that separates the two countries is clearly different from the others, and Kosovo is shown as part of Serbia. The petition entitled "Put Kosovo on Apple Maps - put Kosovo on Apple Maps" has already collected more than 100.000 signatures in a few days (it was launched on Friday 17th July).
"It is very worrying that Kosovo is not shown on Apple Maps. They succeed barely seeing its borders and the worst part is that it is shown as part of Serbia. This must change as soon as possible because Kosovo has been an independent country since 2008."- reads the description of the petition.
The message of Dua Lipa
Just in the days of the launch of the online petition - not surprisingly - the Albanian-born musical star Dua Lipa (who, like Rita Ora, shared the petition on social media) has published a message on its social profiles: Greater Albania depicted together with the two great Albanian independence leaders Isa Boletini and Ismail Qemali and the word "Autochthonous".
(of a resident of a place) indigenous rather than descendant of migrants or settlers"- reads the caption of the post published by the pop star.
au • toch • tho • nous adjective (of an inhabitant of a place) indigenous rather than descended from migrants or colonists
A short and direct message, a reminder aimed at remembering the history of Albania and the Albanian ethnic group but which on the web has sparked the anger of Serbs, Montenegrins, Greeks and Macedonians, who have labeled the publication of Dua Lipa not recognizing the goodness of the message.
No political provocation or any other kind, but a simple note of Albanian and Albanian history, who in those lands have always lived (as evidenced by history) defending them and fighting against foreign invaders, and who have seen those lands take away without a real reason from the signatures placed on the treaties of London and Berlin after the First World War.
