The number of people infected with COVID in Albania since the beginning of March has exceeded one thousand.
Today they have been registered 6 new cases bringing the total number to 1004, but fortunately about 79% of those affected have already recovered.
In the past 24 hours there are 6 new cases with COVID, 4 cases are in Tirana and 2 a Shkodra. These are mainly people who have had contact with previous positive cases, but also new cases discovered thanks to the epidemiological investigation.
The situation at the infectious disease hospital is stable. Currently 16 patients are being treated, 4 of them are in intensive care. Since the beginning of the epidemic, according to the National Institute of Health, over 14.500 swabs and serological tests have been performed.
There are currently 177 active cases of contagion in our country, mainly in Tirana, Durres and Kruja. So far 32 citizens have not lost the battle with Covid-19, despite the efforts of medical staff.
Again according to the Institute, the epidemic curve in Albania is stable even if an in-depth epidemiological investigation has shown daily fluctuations of cases in the last two weeks. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection invites citizens to be careful, respecting physical distance and personal hygiene.
