This is the request that representatives of the Albanian University Consortium consisting of:
"Luarasi" University The "MARUBI" Film Academy The European University of Tirana and the "Polis" University
sent through the media to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
The Consortium expresses solidarity with his colleague Kujtim Çashku regarding his right to protect his work and intellectual and material investment by transforming the former kinostudio into a center of teaching, culture and cinematographic art in Albania.
- "We believe that solutions through the police and legal problems connected to an already well-known school like the" Marubi "Academy are not appropriate.
- We believe that the application of strict economic or legal criteria when it comes to art school is not the best solution that the government can find.
The representatives of the Consortium request a more tolerant treatment for all the technical and juridical procedures concerning this subject, strictly connected to the art, not treating it in the same way as the other companies.
This request is made for the good of the students, but also for the people of the cinema engaged in this effort.
"It is the case that the authorities in question implement Prime Minister Berisha's promises to support the development of private education in Albania, which we welcome as the most adequate vision for the way a government can see the development of this sector".
