In Tirana it rains while there is less than 3 hours at the beginning of the demonstration called by the Socialist party, to commemorate the three demonstrators killed by gunshots in clashes with the police and the Republican Guard.
More than 200 thousand people are expected, according to the estimates of the socialist organizational apparatus. It wants to be a demonstration of political maturity and will be a peaceful procession, silent in the intentions of Rama, which cannot afford the luxury of letting the situation get lost. All the eyes of the international community but also of the many Albanians are focused on this event, which we will follow in real time.
The route has been announced and includes a large procession that will parade from Piazza Scanderberg to a certain point of the Buolevard Dëshmorët and kombit, where flowers will be placed in memory of the victims. In the intentions there should be no stop in front of the government building, which today has been paying attention to massive additional security measures.
Meanwhile, in the capital the atmosphere of tension is perceived everywhere and the leitmotif that even yesterday was heard in public debates, television, but also in conversations with people, is only one: Albania cannot afford the luxury of violence and a dangerous political stalemate. Politicians have perhaps understood that Albania has also changed.
