While the work continues in some areas of the capital Tirana, the mayor, Erion Veliaj, aims to extend his mandate within the largest municipality of Albania.
According to the Albanian media, during the inauguration of the second segment of the New Boulevard (Bulevardi i Ri) Veliaj received the support of Prime Minister Edi Rama for a second term in command of Tirana.
The Albanian Prime Minister stressed that together with Erion Veliaj, the government will work even more than what has been done in the last three years, ensuring the realization of a series of important investments for the improvement of the quality of life in the capital Tirana:
"Together with the projects of the municipality of Tirana and the projects that hopefully will be financed by private partners, we will have the possibility to do even more than the one done in the last three years."- declared Prime Minister Rama.
Evaluating the positive transformation that the area of 'Bulevard i Ri' had, as well as many other areas of the city, Edi Rama expressed his appreciation for the commitment of the municipality of Tirana and in particular for that of Erion Veliaj:
"If the new boulevard had been built with the rhythms that characterized Tirana before Veliaj's mandate, it would have taken 60 years or so to get to this point and maybe other 30 to get to where we will be next year. All this because we have organized a common work. We have coordinated to the best and the synergy of all the 'actors' has allowed us to get here " - continued Edi Rama.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Rama also commented on the design of the green area of Tirana, which may be compared to that of the artificial lake in terms of size:
"Not only do we have a new ecological axis on the banks of the river, not only will we have a new possibility of circulation for the citizens at the end of the works, but very soon we will also have a new natural park that in size will be very similar to that of the artificial lake. " - concluded Rama.
