It was a traumatic awakening for the city and the Korça district due to the strong earthquakes that alarmed the citizens.
The institute of geosciences at 08.00 around this morning had recorded eleven earthquakes, although the last was recorded about an hour later. The most perceived earthquake that caused the most damage was certainly that of the 04 hours: 26 of 5.3 magnitude on the Richter scale, recorded at 14 km of depth and with its epicenter at 15 km from the village of Floq.
The damage, fortunately, only concerned the houses. However, the inhabitants of the area are still shocked:
"We are terrified. The walls were about to collapse and we are afraid to return to our homes. It was more than 50 years that we did not perceive earthquakes of this kind."- the oldest citizens in the area told Ora News.
Last year, more or less in the same period, a fearthquake shock - with its epicenter north of Durres - had made the inhabitants of Durres and the capital Tirana frighten. A seismic event characterized by a series of earthquakes that had reached a magnitude of 5.1 around the 11.00 in Albania, with its epicenter at 31 kilometers northeast of the capital. Even in that case the damage was limited exclusively to homes.
