Many offenses and mutual accusations at the first parliamentary session of the new year, held yesterday. Nasip Naço joins the government instead of Ilir Meta, and Edmond Haxhinasto will be the new Deputy Prime Minister.
Nasip Naço will be the new Albanian economy minister after Ilir Meta's resignation last Friday. Instead the office of Deputy Prime Minister goes to Edmond Haxhinasto, current Foreign Minister. The Parliament voted yesterday with only the favorable votes of the majority the nominations of Naço and Haxhinasto, but the session was interrupted several times because of the arguments between Berisha and the opposition deputies. Mutual accusations of all kinds and an indecent spectacle for a parliamentary culture that wants to be defined as civic, mature and democratic.
At the center of the arguments, the language used by Prime Minister Berisha against the opposition leader Edi Rama who does not sit in parliament because in the 2009 elections he did not stand as a deputy. It is usual for Berisha to tease and whip the socialist deputies about the private life of Edi Rama, his relationship with the socialist parliamentary group, and it is even easier for him without Rama in the courtroom. But the socialists are no longer there. Yesterday they got up to prevent him from continuing to offend and blame their leader. And this was the reason for four of the five interruptions of the session. Thanks to the critical context created after the transmission of the video on Meta, every time, after the words of the socialist leader Gramoz Ruçi, Berisha returned to the figure of Edi Rama. The socialists gathered under the government benches in the courtroom, scolded him in chorus "vattene", "imorale", "ladro", "brigante". Labels that did not dismantle the Prime Minister, decided to continue his speech, calling some of the Socialist deputies by name and giving details of their alleged involvement in corrupt affairs and trafficking. Offenses aside, for Berisha, the socialists who scold "are the mafia and drug clans. A gangster gang. " Because "a crime gang dared to mount a video on the Prime Minister with a coup deed. Imagine what this man can do to you, dear citizens, "said Berisha, referring to Rama and the unfortunate cut of the video which, out of any context, also links the Prime Minister to the deal on the concession.
Immediate reply from the socialist leader Gramoz Ruçi. "Today, we offered the Prime Minister to leave. Today, the Albanians have seen and heard that you can steal, but you can also make fun of people. You can steal but at the same time you can scold, offend and deceive. You can leave Albania without European integration and be proud of this. You can be corrupt, but you can also swear honestly, "Ruçi said, addressing Berisha. Therefore, the socialists appeal to all citizens to take to the streets next January 21 to protest against this government and to regain its dignity. Ilir Meta also intervened in the courtroom, bringing new elements about the concession that he talks about with Prifti in the video taken by him. According to Ilir Meta, documents of the Ministry of the Economy in hand, the consortium excluded from the tender would have delivered the 5 January 2010 to the Ministry Protocol, the decision that the Court of Appeal would have taken in their favor in September of the 2009. And in the protocol request there is also a handwritten note from the then Minister Prifti in which he asks the Secretary General of his department to proceed to take the cause forward. In short, everything would have happened before the meeting between Meta and Prifti. If this is the case, why in his press statement, the President of the Court of Cassation argued that the Appeal would have pronounced the 18 June 2010 on the same case? The prosecutor will reveal the inconsistency.
