The head of the Albanian government announces the initiative of an official visit to Serbia and the arrival of Tadiç in Tirana.
TIRANA - In a pronouncement for the TV channel "Klan Kosova", the Albanian Prime Minister Berisha declared that he will visit Serbia in the framework of improving relations between Tirana and Belgrade. Berisha is confident that Serbian President Boris Tadiç will also travel to Tirana soon: "I am convinced that this visit will take place, as I will visit Belgrade. Tirana will contribute to the creation of a new climate, a new chapter in the Balkans between Albanians and Serbs, as it will contribute to a dialogue with Prishtina". While analyzing the situation in the region, the head of the Albanian government said that the resolution approved by the United Nations General Assembly represented an important goal for Kosovo. With this resolution voted unanimously like no other so far, Serbia would have backtracked about the status of Kosovo and its territorial integrity. On the other hand, Berisha recalled waiting for the EU decision on the free movement of Albanian citizens in the Schengen area. For the Albanian Prime Minister, all the teams of technicians who came to Albania expressed a positive judgment on the achievement of the criteria for the liberation of deivists. In recent times, relations between Albania and Serbia have not been good due to the criticisms of the Albanian authorities regarding the Serbian position on Kosovo and the first proposal for a resolution on its status presented to the UN in late July.
