Coronavirus has also arrived in Kosovo. The Minister of Health of Kosovo Arben Vitia said it this afternoon at a press conference for the media.
From 15 tests carried out on suspect cases, two tested positive. It is a 20 year old Italian citizen and a 77 year old Kosovan citizen. Both people are in the stable infectious disease department. while trying to trace the contacts that the infected have had with other people.
"At the moment we are speaking, the coordination and evaluation committee of the situation on Covid-19 has been convened to discuss and take appropriate measures in line with the new situation, also foreseen in the action plan drawn up previously", said Vitia.
While Prime Minister Albin Kurti appealed to citizens not to panic, but to carefully adhere to government guidelines regarding the prevention of Covid-19.
“Citizens are invited not to panic, but with the utmost attention they must comply with the guidelines that aim to prevent coronavirus. I invite citizens to calm down, go to the health facilities.
The Ministry of Health has provided a guide with information and advice and a telephone number where they can call anyone who has suspicions or symptoms of acute respiratory diseases (fever, cough, breathing difficulties) or who have traveled to areas affected by the coronavirus.
All citizens are invited to follow the guidelines and preventive measures recommended by the health institutions, as well as the measures promulgated by the government of Kosovo. With great attention, all together, we will also win in this battle! "Kurti said.
