Today on the occasion of twelfth anniversary of independence of Kosovo, many activities and ceremonies are planned throughout the country. The celebrations began with the flag-raising ceremony where the new premier attended Albin Kurti, the president of the parliament of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, many ministers and deputy ministers, while the military gang performed the country's anthem.
Immediately afterwards the authorities moved to another square where the statue of Ibrahim Rugova, to pay homage to the creator of independence and first president of Kosovo.
Kurti and Osmani also visited Prekaz, the country of the hero Adem Jashari to remember his sacrifice and family, victims of Serbian repression.
Prime Minister Kurti said:
"We remember them today on this 12th anniversary of the declaration of independence, with nostalgia and sadness but also with much pride" considering this village as the "capital" of revolt and love for the homeland. "

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama congratulated Kosovo on the 12th anniversary of independence in the early hours of the morning.
"Many wishes for this blessed independence day of Kosovo to all Albanians wherever they are, and eternal recognition for those who gave their lives for this day", wrote Rama.

Thaci: Kosovo is a factor of stability in the region
On the occasion of the 12th anniversary of independence, Thaci said that during these twelve years, Kosovo has achieved great results in the national field, in the consolidation of institutions, in economic progress, in the cultivation of good inter-ethnic relations and in the functioning of the state of right.
“Kosovo has managed to join many international institutions, with the clear goal of full integration into the EU, NATO and the United Nations. For the state of Kosovo and its citizens, integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions remains the only alternative. Kosovo is ready to make its contribution to achieving normalization of relations with the state of Serbia, through EU mediation and assistance from the United States of America ", he has declared.
“Kosovo will never forget the sacrifice of thousands of martyrs of the Kosovo liberation army, disabled, thousands of citizens, who sacrificed their lives for freedom and independence. Kosovo entered the second decade of independence with confidence, hope and conviction for a better and safer future ", he added
