Albania and Italy have signed a cooperation protocol to strengthen interaction in the field of health care, including the free treatment of difficult cases of Albanian patients at the Bari Polyclinic.
“I am very pleased to conclude this agreement, preceded by a long-standing collaboration between the two university hospitals, the Policlinico di Bari and the Mother Teresa University Hospital Center.
In addition to the projects to be formalized and concretised that are included in this cooperation agreement, there is a commitment to treat 10 of Albanian patients in Italy, considered as difficult cases and require more specialized support. " said Health Minister Manastirliu after signing the agreement.
Stressing that this agreement will improve the experience of both teams, Manastirliu said that the exchange of experiences between experts is very important for developing the medicine of our two countries.
Instead, the director of the Bari Polyclinic, Giovani Migliore said that today a long collaboration between the two countries has materialized.
“I would like to thank the Republic of Albania and Minister Manastirliu for the great opportunity offered to the Puglia Region. Our relationships are intense, mature, friendly, collaborative and professional. This agreement comes to life after many years of cooperation which have led to mutual growth for both communities " Better said.
The protocol between the Mother Teresa University Hospital Center and the Policlinic Consortium-Hospital of Bari provides for the establishment of an International Health Cooperation Committee. The committee directs and controls all the operations envisaged in the protocol, reporting periodically to the parties.
This specific agreement is connected with the important projects supported by INTERREG, such as the telecardiology project. The Mother Teresa University Hospital Center and the Polyclinic Hospital of Bari will work together to pilot a telecardiology network in Albania, but also to develop electronic and digital technology in the healthcare field.
