After the ban on smoking imposed in the 2014, some changes to the law that prohibit the use of electronic cigarettes, hookahs and other tobacco products in enclosed spaces came into effect from yesterday.
"It is not a sporadic act, health inspectors will be present every day in the field to monitor the implementation of the law on the protection of health from smoking and to identify violations to which there will be no tolerance.
Forewarned is forearmed! Today the new law on the protection of health from tobacco products comes into force. In closed rooms it will be forbidden: to smoke, the electronic cigarette, the use of shisha / hookah and the sale of any tobacco product to minors. It is the last warning! Follow the law, choose health. No smoking."- said the Minister of Health yesterday Ogerta Manastirliu.

Changes in the law
The anti-smoking law also provides for a ban on the sale of tobacco products with particular flavors (mint, vanilla etc.) as well as the sale of packages with a reduced number of cigarettes, as a measure to discourage smoking.
Another modified point is the duty imposed on producers and importers of tobacco products to inform the Ministry of Health about the entry of new products into the market, their characteristics and their negative effects.
All this will make it possible to better monitor the implementation of the law and its future adaptation based on the new products that will enter the market.
Similarly, administrative measures have been strengthened for those who violate the law: if a person violates the law twice in two months, the second fine will be double the first. If, despite this, the infringement continues within the year the fines will reach up to 6 times of their normal value and then arrive, in the most extreme cases of infringement, at the closure of the activity and withdrawal of the business license.
