In the last 24 hours 197 swabs were performed on suspect cases but only 6 citizens tested positive for Covid -19.
The new cases occurred in the Kruja and Kurbin area and only 1 positive case in Tirana.
Since the outbreak began, 795 citizens have been confirmed as COVID-19 positive across the country, but at present nearly 67% of them are cured.
During the past 24 hours, another area of Albania is included in the map of cities with low risk of transmission of the infection. These are Fieri where the total number of healed has reached 531. As for the people who are currently active with COVID19, Kruja is in first place with 91 cases, followed by Tirana, Kurbini, Shkodra. The total number of infections still active with Covid-19 and 233.
Most of the active cases are followed by the family doctor or are asymptomatic, while currently at the two COVID hospitals, 33 patients are hospitalized and only 7 of them are in intensive care. This is an important indicator that highlights the fact that the measures taken have made it possible not to overload the health system and to successfully cope with cases requiring specialist care in hospitals.
Today, some measures have started to loosen, such as an exit permit for the elderly until 10:00 and for parents with children up to 14 until 17:30, while all other activities will be closed.
Starting tomorrow, May 4, the "green areas" will be extended with municipalities with a low risk of transmission of the infection. Taxis will be allowed long distance journeys with up to two passengers, members of the same family. Returnees living in red areas will spend the quarantine period at home.
Despite the fact that from Monday there will be another easing of the measures, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection invites all citizens to continue to respect physical distance and take care of personal hygiene, as well as open businesses that must strictly comply with the security protocols.
Next week will increase the number of companies resuming their operations according to a government-defined plan based on consultations with health experts and the level of risk for coronavirus infection. Prime Minister Rama stressed that "This plan will change if the dynamics of the epidemic change negatively".
We are talking about opening services in the coming weeks, where bars and restaurants are also included only in the outdoor areas until 17.30. Other public activities, such as cultural and artistic ones, will continue to stand still.
