At today's cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Edi Rama confirmed some additional measures after confirming the first two cases of contagion in Albania.
The head of the government has announced that the schools will remain closed until April 3, and flights to northern Italy will be suspended in the most affected areas. In addition, 400 million lek (3270265 euros) will be allocated to the Ministry of Health to deal with the situation related to the coronavirus. On the other hand, at the first meeting held after the confirmation of the two cases, Rama announced that until April 3 all mass, cultural, sports, rallies, concerts, activities and public hearings will be canceled to see the dynamics of this development and then decide further.
People entering Albania from the red zone will be forced to self-quarantine. Prime Minister Edi Rama has warned that administrative measures are planned in the event of violation of this order.
In the early hours of today, the Ministry of Health confirmed that father and son tested positive for coronavirus. The person came from Florence and had arrived in Albania by land. The 28-year-old entered Albania on February 26 and also infected his father. Manastirliu added that the infected people were quarantined until complete verification.
