The Ministry of Education has revoked the private school license "Udha and Shkronjave" after its leaders decided to close it for two weeks as a precautionary measure against coronavirus. This is what the Albanian media report.
The Minister of Education, Besa Shahini, said that this decision or the extraordinary closure of a school is up to the Ministry, but the managers of this school have not followed the necessary procedures and will consequently be prosecuted for spreading panic. As for the pupils, the Minister said that they will be transferred to another school.
"The extraordinary closure of the schools takes place only by ministerial order. The leaders of a private school decided not to respect it and closed the school for two weeks. Faced with this illegality, we are forced to revoke the school's license. The pupils will be transferred to another school, while school leaders who spread panic by closing the school illegally, for alleged prevention of a viral situation that does not exist in Albania, should be prosecuted by the judicial system ", the minister wrote on FB.

Yesterday evening, the news had appeared on the official page that the school would close for two weeks (which could vary depending on the situation), as a preventive measure for coronavirus risk.
The head of this school said that this decision was made after a consultation with the parents, as a form of psychological preparation in the event that this type of emergency should occur in Albania.
