The situation regarding coronaviruses in Albania worsens. Contagions increased today, June 9, reaching 36 cases in the country, including 27 in Tirana.
Today is the day with the most new cases in our country since the start of the pandemic. The Ministry of Health said that this growth is due to gatherings and non-compliance with prevention measures.
In the past 24 hours, 359 people suspected of contracting Covid-19 have been tested. The tests performed showed 27 positive in Tirana, 4 cases in Shkoder, 2 cases in Kamza, 1 case in Durres, 1 case in Lushnje and 1 case in Lezha.
A good part of the cases that have been identified have clinical signs and some of them need hospitalization. However, the number of hospitalized infectious diseases has also increased; 41 patients are hospitalized, including 6 in intensive care and 2 intubated.
Fifteen other citizens have recovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of people recovered to 960 since the beginning of the epidemic. There are 305 cases of contagion still active in the country, mainly in Tirana, Shkoder, Kruja and Kamza. Since the beginning of the epidemic, over 18500 swabs and serological tests have been performed, of which 1299 confirmed positive cases.
“This situation was not expected, but it is due to the gatherings that have taken place in the past few days. Not only the gatherings, but also the failure to observe the rules, regarding physical distancing, the use of masks, and the care of personal hygiene"- admit to the National Institute of Health - We must all be aware that Covid19 has not left our country.
So far, with the application of the restrictive measures we had low numbers, a result due to everyone's sacrifice. But this does not mean that with the easing of measures we must abuse, to make all these sacrifices vain.
All these cases are consequences of failure to comply with the rules of physical distancing, a personal or collective responsibility that falls on both employers and employees.
