"We took a drink from a bar near the waterfront. We walked and wandered through the streets of Vlora, this mysterious city. We arrived in the most narrow, isolated areas. I discovered its many and different faces. It's like a matryoshka. Inside it there are so many other cities, as you discover it it reveals other parts of itself: in one part it seems to be in Beirut, in another in Southern Italy, in another part it still seems to be in Cyprus or in Turkey and so on. But then you feel certain sensations, you see certain things and you feel certain smells that there are only here and then suddenly you remember being in Albania, in this crazy country that is Albania "
The scent of Vlore oranges is the story of a mother and a daughter who return, after so many years, to the village they originally belong to. The rapprochement with relatives and the knowledge of new people will make this trip unforgettable. Impossible to forget will also be the country itself which, despite its contradictions and flaws, fascinates and remains within so much that it is difficult to do without it.
The protagonists of the story are not only the characters in flesh and blood, but also Albania itself. The book provides information on some of the major cities and places of interest in the country. The history of Albania is intertwined with the adventures and experiences of the protagonists.
The presentation of the book will be an opportunity to discuss the experience of the second and third generation of foreigners in Italy and to maintain their roots and it will also be an opportunity to get to know this distant and yet so close country a little more closely. also thanks to the projection of photographs that accompany in the quotations of this book that is not only a novel, but also a tourist guide and reportage.
