No less than 420 euros will be the salary for those who agree to work in the post-earthquake reconstruction that will start soon. The news came from Prime Minister Edi Rama, who said today, March 2, in Parliament that a salary lower than this amount will not be accepted.
“We have involved 300 students from third and fourth year professional schools, to engage them in the building sector where they will not only receive training but will be directly involved in the reconstruction works, gaining direct experience.
All the experts in this field who want to work will be called. One of the biggest challenges is the great need for manpower in this sector. The rebuilding process involves new jobs and requires skilled labor in the construction sector.
We are ready to provide training for all those who have this need, but it remains a challenge as many jobs are vacant, as those who complain of not having a job want to choose jobs especially in the public sector. While we need expert arms in the sector. The government will force construction companies to set a wage equal to the average wage paid in Albania, which is 420 euros.
We will not accept that companies pay today's minimum wages or something more. The salary will be imposed by the government and will be around the average salary currently in Albania, with all insurances.
But we will also open borders for foreign employees, giving companies the opportunity to recruit foreigners to work in Albania if necessary. State work is reserved for excellent students or for those who come from other successful experiences. So the path to finding a job in the state sector will be increasingly difficult. ” said Rama.
Rama's statements come just days after another announcement made in the congress of the Socialist Party, where he had raised a new economic plan which also provides for an increase in the minimum wage to € 243.
