The journalist Ylli Rakipi received intimidating messages after having published the documents showing the scam concerning a part of the call for tenders of the Grande Raccordo Anulare assigned to the company DH Albania.
"The threats came in various forms. Initially indirectly, via e-mail. Then also directly. The journalist contacted the competent authorities. ”- writes the portal 'Te Paekspozuarit', managed by Rakipi.
Both the country's president, Ilir Meta, and the democratic opposition party have firmly condemned the threats. In particular, Meta - who met Rakipi personally - called on all institutions to investigate this case with the utmost responsibility in order to give the offenders the punishment they deserve.
The complaint of Rakipi
The 'Te Paekspozuarit' program had announced two weeks ago how the US company Dunwell Haberman - through its Albanian branch DH Albania - had falsified all the documentation presented to the Albanian authorities concerning the call for tenders for the Grande Raccordo Anulare, the works of the which, precisely this reason, have been suspended.
Not only that, because the same DH Albania had been assigned another contract, from around 30 million, for the construction of an electricity grid.
In the following days, Ylli Rakipi had also reported that behind the entire scam of the American society there was the Albanian citizen Bashkim Ulaj. Not by chance, in fact, the headquarters of DH Albania is in Tirana, at the ABA center, built by Ulaj himself.
Moreover, thanks to an article published by BIRN on Monday, connections were discovered between DH Albania and the company Gener 2 (the company responsible for the construction of the hydroelectric plants on the Valbona river) since the latter's lawyers have completed the procedure for the tender for DH Albania.
The prosecution started investigating the case seizing, until now, the relevant documents and suspending the first part of the work on the new Grande Raccordo Anulare.
