The earthquake budget
To date, 51 are the victims of the violent earthquake of magnitude 6.4 that hit XBUMX on November in Albania.
According to the preliminary budget of the government, in Durres there are 176 palaces and 701 buildings damaged, 12 of which completely destroyed; 1260 the displaced, 625 are hosted in hotels and 360 in schools. In Tirana, instead, there are 61 palaces and 239 damaged houses, 23 of which are unusable.
State of emergency proclaimed in Durres, Tirana, Laç and Alessio. According to figures quoted by the prime minister Edi Rama at the government meeting more than 1.200 are damaged homes and more than 5.200 displaced persons. In the province of Durazzo, in particular, 710 houses are damaged, 12 those completely destroyed and 176 the damaged buildings. In the province of Tirana, instead, 239 are the houses that have suffered damage and 15 those destroyed, while 8 buildings are unusable and 61 damaged. Of the more displaced 5.200, 1.260 are in Durres, about 500 in Thumana and other 3.500 in the province of Tirana. Rama said that the tent cities will be closed and the people will be transferred to hotels or reception centers. Some residents of Durres have already been transferred to Korça (eastern Albania).
Donation campaign launched by the Albanian State
The mobilization of solidarity towards the Country of the Eagles is very great, involving all the partner countries of Albania and the neighbors. The Albanian government and the Embassy of Albania in Italy invite all those who want to donate to to do it via the government portal e-Albania. As explained by OBC Transeuropa, technically you fill out a form and then choose the method of payment by credit or debit card, entering the data of it and choosing the amount to be paid. The whole donation procedure does not include commissions. Until midnight on November 29 around 3500 donors had contributed to the collection of grants for a total amount of 33 million Albanian lek.
The Association of Albanian Banks announces that in full solidarity with the situation created by the November 26 earthquake and in support of all those who wish to contribute with donations, assistance or contributions in favor of the victims, in full collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and economy and the Bank of Albania, announces that any type of transaction, whether in cash or in transfer, in lek or in foreign currency, in favor of open accounts for "Voluntary contributions, emergency" is carried out without commissions. Banks operating in Albania do not charge any commission.
