After the holidays, the new school year begins with the highly anticipated first day of school also in Albania. I am less 100.000 than last year. According to data from the Ministry of Education, 386.000 students will be enrolled in pre-university education, compared to 480.000 of the 2018-2019.
Of these, most of them, 272.000, are part of the lower cycle, otherwise called the 9 years compulsory basic system (equivalent, in Italy, to the accumulation of years between elementary school and lower middle school), while 90.000 are enrolled in institutions superior. For the first time, 24.000 pupils will go up to the classroom, attending the first grade.
Here too, the figures reported by the Education Department speak of 8.000 fewer students. The minor births in recent years and emigration are seen as the two main reasons for the drop in the number of students attending school.
This year the Albanian Minister Besa Shahini he chose to offer his best wishes, meeting the students directly.
Në ditën and parë të shkollës me nxënësit and shkollës Qemal Stafa. Suksese në vitin and ri shkollor. 😊
