The interior ministry reiterated today that there is no EU directive regarding the refugee emergency and that the ZDF service - which gave rise to all the political discussion - simply analyzed a hypothetical situation.
It is absolutely indisputable that the European Union intends to block immigrants outside its borders by setting up camps where refugees, who continue to arrive from the Middle East, will remain until their request for assistance is discussed and analyzed. asylum in one of the EU member countries.
In this context, this week a rumor has spread that Albania has received a directive from the European body to allow the settlement of refugees in their own countryand, in exchange for the opening of official accession negotiations. The German television network has also moved on this issue ZDF, which has dedicated a report on the case stating that Albania has the capacity to cope up to a flow of immigrant 600.000.
All the political controversies, derived from the ZDF service, were however turned off today by the Ministry of the Interior, which asked not to speculate on the content of the analysis of the German network.
"Building camps for refugees is not a problem or a case in question. No one has requested it so far and no one has offered anything like it. " - let the Ministry of the Interior know.
The service, according to the interior ministry, turned to a question: what could Albania do in an emergency refugee situation? The answer, cited in the ZDF report, is that Albania - as demonstrated in the Kosovo war - is able to sustain such a situation.
The response of the Albanian opposition to the case
The whole issue was not well received by the main opposition party, the democratic party. During the meeting of the security commission - held today - the deputy of the PD, Flamur Noka, expressed himself with harsh words on this issue because, according to him, hosting refugees would pave the way for human trafficking through sea routes :
"The mafia is no longer able to 'eat' from cannabis and narcotics trafficking, and for this reason now wants to focus on human trafficking. We don't want to panic with this information, but it's the reality of things " - said Noka.
