Yesterday, 27 August, the Albanian premier Edi Rama presented the new cabinet , in his second term, maintaining several close allies including Pandeli Majko elected, in the newly presented government, Minister of State, in the establishment of the new Ministry for the Diaspora.
During the speech that Rama gave at the meeting of the General Assembly of the Socialist Party, he announced that Pandeli Majko was given this task by relying on experience during his political career.
The Ministry of the State for the Diaspora will deal with the status of the Albanians in neighboring countries and will seek to increase the ties and cooperation with the Albanian government. The cure will be towards the Albanians of Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, the city of Preshevë, and the Diaspora, as reported by the Albanian media.
Who is Pandeli Majko
Pandeli Majko was born on November 15 1967 in Tirana. He received his studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Tirana in the 1986-1992 period.
He also studied at the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana in the 1994-2000 period. Majko has a rich political career that begins as president of FRESSH (Socialist Youth Forum) in the 1992-1995. He was twice General Secretary and President of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party of Albania. He also led the Ministry of Defense twice in previous socialist governments.
His political career will culminate in the 1998-1999 when hires the role of prime minister in the government of Albania.
