From Monday, pharmacies, markets and banks will remain open until 17:30. This is one of the measures announced by Premier Rama that comes after the significant reduction in the number of people infected in the fourth week of the coronavirus epidemic in Albania.
Prime Minister Edi Rama also said that next week, if the curve follows this downward trend, there will be the possibility of allowing movement with private cars to go to work where the activities have remained open.
However, this easing of measures will be accompanied by stricter sanctions proposed by the government and will be submitted to the parliamentary opinion. Changes to the penal code and the road code are expected to be in force for the entire emergency period. The return to normal life according to the Task Force forecast will take place at the end of May, where most of the activities are expected to open, but with well-defined rules. A standard regulation will be drawn up which must be respected by all the activities that will open in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, the head of government has announced that the extended financial package will be presented in the coming days, which will include small businesses that have not been completely closed but have suffered economic damage due to this situation (travel agency, tailoring, furniture factories, plumbers, electricians, physiotherapy, stationery, licensed car wash service). The package will also include large enterprises, the tourism sector, the textile and footwear industry.
Rama also announced the total closure from tomorrow at 13.00 until Monday at 5.00, specifying that it will be the last time of this restrictive measure.
Tomorrow is the last day with the scheduled closure at 13.00. From tomorrow at 13.00 until Monday at 05.00 everything will be closed and everyone will be home. From Monday the time slot will be extended until 17.30 with the authorization to do the shopping valid for 90 minutes. Gradually and patiently, we will come out of this war with our heads held high, "writes Rama.
