The price abuse implemented on the drug 'Soludamin' will cost the pharmaceutical company 'CFO PHarma' dearly.
The pharmaceutical company, in fact, sold the drug at a price eighteen times higher than the one approved by the commission for drug prices and, for this reason, will have to pay a fine worth ten times higher than the abusive gains arrived from the sale of the Soludamin 'in the time frame in question.
All this has been made known - as reported by Top Channel - by the National Medicines Agency, the institution that controls the drug market in Albania.
Furthermore, in the Agency statement it is specified that the case was forwarded to the competent authorities for further investigations together with the results from the audits carried out by the National Medicines Agency in collaboration with the sector against economic crime in relation to the price set on the drug 'Soludamin'.
Specifically, from the surveys conducted by, it appeared that CFO PHarma purchased the drug at a price of 4.8 lek and then resold it to consumers at a price about 18 times higher - 1340 lek - not taking into account the price that the commission for drug prices had imposed.
In addition to the fine against the pharmaceutical company 'CFO PHarma', the prosecution opened a criminal investigation against the company administrator.
CFO PHarma is an Albanian pharmaceutical company founded in 2002 which deals with registering, importing, distributing, selling, promoting and exporting pharmaceutical products, medical devices and food supplements.
It is a leading company in the wholesale market, given that it covers the 100% of pharmacies in Albania and Kosovo. CFO Pharma is also actively engaged in preparing medical information in all therapeutic areas covering the entire health system (from public hospitals to private clinics) in both segments of the market, both public and private.
In the 2017, the company was rewarded - among so many controversies due to some actions of the administrator of the fingers - as the best activity of the year by the Tirana Chamber of Commerce.
