Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced new punitive measures that will go as far as depriving the freedom of all those citizens who break the rules endangering themselves, their families and the whole society from the COVID-19 infection.
The decision comes due to episodes in which some citizens did not comply with the social distancing measures during the allowed exit time. The head of the government says the police will act with a stern response for all those who do not respect order and distance. In addition, Rama said that there will be police and army cordons at supermarkets to persuade citizens to keep their distance.
"Given the level of understanding of the civic duty of this war for life or death, and since the positive progress of the war so far has been misunderstood by abandoning the idea" so much nothing will happen to us "then the state's response will be reciprocal for all those who do not respect the queue.
The army and municipal police will urgently create health cords at the markets. State police will apply new punitive measures towards offenders. The new punitive measures will be law Monday and the empty heads will be deprived of their freedom. At empty heads we will make life hell for their twisted behaviors that bring the fire of hell to all of us.
Tirana is the most dangerous hotbed of war. Durres, just like Tirana, can become our Waterloo again. Shkodra is already a ticking time bomb. Fier is a great potential danger. Anywhere we can get out of hand the advantage we have created. Forget it! We will not lose this fight only because of those who have no brains and livers to fight like all the Albanian people. " Rama wrote on Facebook.
Rama said the government is planning a gradual opening for some services
