Announcement of update of the situation linked to COVID-19 for the movement of passengers by sea from / to Albania and Italy.
Following the change in situation with the extension of the red zone throughout Italy due to the spread of COVID-19, in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Energy, we inform you that from 11.03.2020:
All passenger movements from all Italian ports to Albania are prohibited;
Passengers can be transported from Albania to Italy via all routes between Italy and Albania, while passengers will not be allowed to travel from Italy to Albania.
All passenger ferry lines will be allowed to transport trucks and goods from Italy without limitations. In the open ports of the Republic of Albania all merchant ships from Italy to Albanian ports will also be authorized.
Crews and drivers will be subject to strict controls in Albanian ports.
The Maritime Directorate-General immediately informed the port authorities of the ports of the Republic of Albania and the maritime agencies to stop booking tickets from Italian ports to Albanian ports for the following lines:

Below is the communication on the COVID-19 emergency and the flights to and from Albania and Italy issued by Autoriteti Aviacionit Civil (AAC):
Following the previous communication regarding the suspension of flights to and from "Mother Teresa" International Airport and to and from the 12 airports of Northern Italy due to the emergency situation COVID-19, and the measures taken by the Italian government to the extension of the quarantine throughout the territory, as well as the measures to prevent the spread of the virus adopted in our country, starting from 12:00 on the day of today, March 10, 2020, all flights to and from "Mother Teresa" International Airport to all Italian airports, until subsequent communication.
The Civil Aviation Authority makes an appeal to all passengers who already have travel tickets departing from the "Mother Teresa" International Airport to Italy and vice versa, not to go to the airport and to observe the provisions issued by the public health authorities in order to protect their own health and that of their relatives.
Regarding the treatment of the passengers concerned, the airlines that make local or foreign Albania - Italy connections are asked to refer to the treatment methods for similar cases implemented by the European airlines, offering passengers the possibility of moving of the travel date without expense charges.
