Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced the new measures that will be in effect after June 1st.
During a live broadcast on Facebook, Rama announced that this week the measures will continue as they are, where the movement of vehicles and citizens will be limited from 05:00 to 21:00 in the red areas, while in the green areas there will be no type of restriction.
“From June 1st we will open land borders with our neighboring countries, but not yet the beaches. No country has opened the beaches at present. However, hotels will open on June 1st and beaches will open on June 10th " said Rama.
Rama also spoke of the opening of flights stating that this will not be possible as the other countries have not yet opened their borders.
"The virus is not yet gone but it is among us and the danger of a new wave of infections is concrete and not imaginary" Rama said he wanted to respond to those who complained of the closings that continue over the weekend. Rama explained that it is precisely during the weekend that the greatest dangers arise as people pour into the streets and clubs without respecting the necessary containment measures. Therefore Rama announced that these measures will continue for another two weeks or that there will still be restrictions on the weekend. Rama also wanted to respond to the many critics who continue to consider restriction measures unnecessary.
"Many commentators led by ignorance curse time slots. The dynamics of this war mainly depend on the level of exposure of the population to the virus. The second phase started with slackening of the measures but it is not difficult to understand that Saturday and Sunday there is a greater risk of exposure, since there is an influx of cars and citizens. I have said from day one that this is a battle of nerves and an extreme test of endurance until the end of this diabolical story.
Some believe they are smarter than the others and all this seems useless because we have not counted hundreds of deaths, while the truth is that only because we have done what we have done have we avoided terrible suffering.
Name Sweden and consider our measures conspiracy. The "academic" world of social media is full of conspiracies and global fantasies. Albania has the lowest population deaths in the world.
Which state in the world is more open than Albania today in the second phase. Look at Greece, where there are limits of movement between the provinces, and the same in Italy between the regions where you cannot move from north to south as you wish, and where you cannot yet go to the beach.
We are taking measures according to a well-thought-out plan, we are ready to open land borders, but we must also obtain approval from other countries. Even if we want to open up, others don't open up. Schengen suspended flights until 15 June. " said Rama
