Skopje - The civic movement ZGJOHU! (Wake up!) In Macedonia supports the recent invitations to obtain Albanian citizenship also from the Albanians in Macedonia, Kosovo and in every country where there is the Albanian diaspora.
This idea was proposed by some Albanian scholars in Tirana, with a request addressed to the President of the Republic, Bamir Topi for the granting of Albanian citizenship.
The ZGJOHU movement! believes that the official care of official Tirana should also be formalized for Albanians outside the borders of Albania, and this step would facilitate the communication of the Albanians of the Western Balkans and the Diaspora. "Citizenship is a constitutional right, but also a legal and political right of citizens which governs relations between citizens and the state. The Zgjohu Movement! has received numerous requests from the Albanians in Macedonia to raise their voices due to the difficulties in obtaining Macedonian citizenship. According to unofficial news, the risk of damaging the ethnic balance in the country has left tens of thousands of Albanians in Macedonia without citizenship, even if they meet all the conditions, "Zgjohu reported." After changing the law on citizenship, Parliament Albanian must change the electoral law allowing Albanians (who will be Albanian citizens) to vote abroad in the Albanian political elections allowing the proportional election of the Albanian deputies of Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, the Presheve valley, Ciamuria and of the diaspora that would represent the interests of a part of the Albanian people living in these countries.
Since these citizens are not contributors to Albania's budget, their mandate should be defined in line with this fact. This type of action does not change at all from Macedonia and other countries, where the law is already in place and should not be interpreted differently from those practices already established and supported, "the Zgjohu Movement ends its letter.
