The commitment to the prevention and protection of Albanian minors and adolescents continues through the SMILE Project (Support of Minors in Albania by International Legislation), an ambitious plan that aims to initiate a process of change through Decentralized Cooperation in the context of broad Program of International Cooperation "Support in favor of juvenile policies in Albania".
Three days of work in fact called for members of the Steering and Control Committee - CIC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - MAE, co-financier together with the Emilia-Romagna Regions (Leader Partners), Marche and Puglia - Councilorship for the Mediterranean and the Municipality of Forlì (Actuator), to take stock of the progress of the Program, illustrating in particular the activities carried out within the communication sector. Followed directly by the Department of the Mediterranean, the action of communication and information on the rights of minors in Albania provides for the promotion of awareness campaigns towards institutions and public opinion regarding the prevention and protection of Albanian minors at risk, to end also to promote the adaptation to the European and international standards of the legislation on adoptions. The initiative is part of the guidelines of the Italian Cooperation on Juvenile Issues and in the Framework of Provisions inspired by the 476 / 98 Law in ratification and execution of the Hague Convention.
Specifically, during the three days, the work carried out with the children of Elbasan, Scutari and Valona, the three municipalities directly involved in the project, for the realization of three commercials was illustrated, also through the testimony of those who took part directly. which will be broadcast in May on Albanian state television. These are three stories, entirely written and filmed by children, which address the issue of children's rights: the family, the game, the study. Numerous in-depth studies on the main themes of the Program and on the pilot projects launched in the territories (study of a national law on social enterprises, creation of a database on minors, Albanian adoption committee, training program with the judiciary school). Finally, the programming documents were approved.
