The Embassy of Italy in Tirana is pleased to inform that, in order to offer a better service to the users in terms of money and procedural flexibility, starting from the 1 ° January 2019 it will be possible to adopt also for sworn translations the form of the Apostille (as provided for in the art.1 of the Hague Convention of 5.10.1961, operating between Italy and Albania by the 01.07.2011).
The deeds issued by the Albanian Authorities in Albania, to be recognized as valid in Italy, must be equipped with a double Apostille issued by the Albanian Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs: on the original document in Albanian and on its sworn translation in Italian.
It will therefore no longer be necessary to request the legalization of the translation from the Italian consular authorities in Albania.
The new procedure to be followed for the legalization of the sworn translation by Apostille of Albanian documents to be presented in Italy is summarized below.
Procedure to follow
- 1) the translation will be done by a sworn translator whose signature is filed with the Ministry of Justice. The sworn translator will place the following wording on the translation: "We hereby declare that the present translation is in conformity with the original text in Albanian language and was carried out by" Nome e Cognome ", sworn translator accredited by the Albanian Ministry of Justice." affixed the signature and the stamp of the sworn translator.
- 2) An Albanian notary public will declare the authenticity of the signature and the legal quality of the sworn translator pursuant to the art. 65 of the L.7829 of the 01.06.1994;
- 3) both on the document and on the translation thus completed the Apostille will be affixed by the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The original deed issued by the Albanian Authorities with Apostille and accompanied by a translation also provided with Apostille can then be presented directly to the Italian Authorities in Italy.
Please note that the Albanian citizen still has the possibility of obtaining a sworn translation performed directly by translators in Italy.
