I do not know what to wait before intervening with concrete actions to mobilize to defend the rights of immigrant citizens, the target of infamous indiscriminate attacks as happened in Naples and in the high cities of Italy.
The growing ignorance about the conditions of immigrants, scientifically constructed by the media in the service of guidelines and political groups that have set their electoral campaign on the so-called "security issue", foreshadows a war between the poor that risks unleashing itself with devastating effects on the conditions of democratic coexistence.
Few people know that in Italy only 150.000 Rom is present, just to give an example, compared to the other 300.000 in England, Germany or France. Few people know that half of the deaths at work in our country are immigrant workers, almost always hired "in black", always super exploited, from south to north "advanced".
Few know that well over a million only carers look after our elderly and it is estimated that over half a million of them are in "clandestinity" conditions.
The increasing violence against immigrants and against Roma is something that must first of all mobilize our consciences and that must prompt an immediate political and social action that puts right and rights first. that clarifies that the condition of clandestinity is structural in every migration, as well as the one that has characterized the Italian emigration in the world, made, half, of illegal immigrants up to all the 70 years of the last century; that violence is above all the violence of the living conditions that concern large masses of citizens in the suburbs of our cities and metropolises, certainly created not by immigrants; that security must first of all deal with the impressive development of illegal activities and the criminal economy which in our country invoices around 100 billion a year and pervades large sectors of Italian, European and world politics and society. That violence in Italy crosses large sectors of the youth world and beyond and is fundamentally autochthonous and fed by cultural messages conveyed by a mediocre and servile communication and information system.
Against the dangerous regurgitations of racism against immigrants a long cultural and political battle must be organized which must see at the head above all those who emigrated to it, know it and represent it in society and in Parliament.
The hour of commitment is not tomorrow, but today, immediately. Who knows and wants to take sides do it now.
