In these days, Amnesty International has published a note, in which it analyzes some important points, specifying the exploitation made in Italy concerning the work of immigrants.
These points were developed thanks to the collaboration with the immigrants themselves, who gave their testimony. In Italy, immigrants are around 5.5 million, which means 8,9% of the population. Of these, only 500 thousand of them, appear to be irregular. However, the corporal in the agricultural sector does not care about the latter, since they do not know with which to blackmail the sans papier. So, it is the regular immigrants who suffer injustices from the exploiters, so, for a lower compensation than the 40% compared to the pay paid to an Italian, the migrants are forced to work for 18 hours a day in inhuman conditions.
In all this, they cannot even report why the documents were required, thus not even having the opportunity to leave the penalty for the loss of the visa. Some of the victims of this labor exploitation are African and Asian migrants, and in some cases they are also citizens of the European Union, such as Romanians and Bulgarians, but also citizens of Eastern European countries that are not part of the EU, such as example the Albanians.
