At the festive atmosphere of the celebrations for the 105 years of independence of Albania, the Albanian community of Rome also took part with the concert organized by the Albanian Community Association "BESA" in collaboration with the Migrantes, Italian Episcopal Conference.
The concert took place in the evocative setting of the Church of San Giovanni della Malva, located in the square of the same name in Trastevere. The Church is a small treasure of art in the oldest center of Rome.
The Holy Father John Paul II since 1 ° August 2004 entrusted it to the community of Albanian Catholics in Italy, so that they could use it as their center of prayer and to represent the ideal unity between the Italian Church and the Albanian Church.
The concert was then inserted into a cultural and religious symphony, with the hope of being able to continue the initiative in the years to come to manifest the artistic unity of the Albanian community of Rome with the mother earth and also through the artistic expression universal aspiration for peace and harmony of peoples.

The soprano gave the concert Ana Lushi, enchanting the public with its virtuosity. Ana graduated from the conservatory "Preng Jakova" di Shkodër and continued his training in Rome with masterclasses and master classes conducted by prestigious masters. Winner of the "Firenze Lirica" and "Musica per Roma" award. Performer in numerous operas, Ana Lushi recently took part in the concert "From La Cavalleria Rusticana ... to La Boheme" at the Goldoni theater in Livorno.
The mezzo-soprano Irida Dragoti, he marveled those present with his strong power. Graduated in singing at the Santa Cecilia conservatory in Rome and graduated from the A. Boito conservatory in Parma, Irida has performed in the most renowned Italian theaters and also abroad.
Completed the group of interpreters Refat Lleshi who comes from the singing school of southern Albania and then completed her studies at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, with experience in prestigious Italian theaters.
The singers were accompanied by Oliver Gruda, master of sacred music, graduated from the Vatican Conservatory.
The president of BESA greeted those present, Edmond Godo which has also launched an appeal to the Albanian community of Rome to work towards the establishment of an Albanian language school for the benefit of their children, to keep alive the links with the language and culture of origin.
The festive atmosphere was accentuated by the enthusiastic participation of the Albanian public but above all the Italian one who had the opportunity to discover another dimension of Albanian art and culture.
