The discovery is the leitmotif of the initiatives organized by the Municipality of Forlì and the Juvenilja Association in collaboration with other local bodies, scheduled from 20 to 31 in May. History, images, tourism, entrepreneurial perspectives, bilateral relations and youth associations, the themes to be discovered about the country beyond the Adriatic.
In the coming 10 days, the city of Aurelio Saffi will be the capital of Albanian culture in Italy. An exhibition and three public initiatives with guests from Albania to report, in the words of Davide Drei, Councilor for Welfare of Forlì, at its real distance "the arm of the sea that divides / unites Italy and Albania: 80 sea miles, a hour of flight ”. A metaphor that captures the meaning of the cycle of initiatives: immigration as an opportunity for knowledge, reciprocity and an agent of development between the two communities.
For Endri Xhaferaj, President of the Juvenilja Association, the discovery is the key word of the scheduled events. Starting from the photo exhibition "Albania it turns out" that will be inaugurated on Thursday 20 May at 18.00 by mayor Roberto Balzani and animated by the Scutari per Scutari Orkestra. An important event that Councilor Drei says is "the synthesis of a profound relationship between immigration, in this case the Albanian one, and development cooperation". "The exhibition will be the discovery of 150 years of history through photographs that help to preserve our collective memory and therefore reduce our perceptions of reality as Albanian," reiterates Endri. Photographs of the Fondo Marubi di Scutari, the Archivio di Stato and Roland Tasho, the photographer par excellence of the Albanian transition, which surely many Albanian citizens will not have seen, which is why the exhibition is also addressed to them and not just to an audience Italian. In the 10 days of the exhibition from the 20 to the 31 in May, in the Sala XC Pacifici at the entrance of the Town Hall, the Juvenilja Association takes care of guided tours for all visitors in addition to those already established previously with the primary and lower secondary schools of the city.
Instead the initiative of Friday afternoon in Sala Randi (Via delle Torri 12) will be to discover tourism in Albania, the potential and the destinations that this country offers an hour's flight from Forlì. Incredibly close enough to tempt anyone to go there, as the Forlì travelers did, who will witness their experience during the meeting moderated by the Councilor for International Relations, Patrick Leech. Two institutional guests from Albania, Florian Bilali of the National Tourism Agency and Luan Dervishaj of the German cooperation agency GTZ, who together with Dorina Xhaferri of the Juvenilja Association, will discuss the topic also with the public present. 5 days later , Wednesday 26 May, at the Chamber of Commerce of Forlì (Piazza Saffi 36), from the 9.30 you can discover the entrepreneurial prospects between the two shores of the Adriatic. An initiative organized in collaboration with the Forlì Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Albanian Trade Association. Institutional guests from the Albanian UnionCamere and Albanian health and economic ministries will talk to participants about the opportunities their country offers, especially in the renewable energy, health and construction sectors. There are also many local institutional speakers who will discuss similar issues. An interesting moment of the day will be the testimonies of some successful cases of Italian entrepreneurs in Albania and Albanians in Italy.
Although the introductory event of the cycle is precisely on Juvenilja, the 20 May, the last to be discovered will be precisely this association of young Albanians active for more than a year. The success of these initiatives and others in the past is proof of the fact that Juvenilja is a constantly growing and functioning reality. The challenge to be overcome in the future is to become development actors.
