Which are the provinces where Albanian citizens settle in Italy? Once again the primacy remains in Milan with 22103 resident citizens, followed by Brescia (18320) and Florence (17704). These are some of the data that emerged from the Istat report and that we extrapolated on the Albanian resident population in Italy. In the ranking of the top 10 provinces there is also Rome (16222) in fourth place, and Bari in fifth place (12025)
The massive presence of Albanian families in the Center-North of the Bel Paese is completely natural. In a country characterized also by internal population movements from the least developed to the most productive areas, the choice made by the Albanians themselves is inevitable
Since the 90s, the entry of Albanian citizens into Italy has become substantial. This phenomenon reached its peak in 2014 when there were almost half a million Albanians (495709 Albanians), while in the following years this number gradually decreased, recording the lowest number of 440465 Albanians registered in the registry in 2018 to increase tentatively in 2019 to 441027 people.
The reasons are many, certainly the acquisition of Italian citizenship by a greater number of Albanians residing for reasons of continuous residence or marriages, but also for the fact of a new migratory flow towards other countries in Northern Europe for which we do not have statistical data real.
