Why in Italy?
He explains it himself. It is the closeness he has always felt towards Italy, on a par with all those Albanians who have settled in the Belpaese and have established new roots without forgetting those they belong to.
Agliana, like Pistoia, is home to a large number of well-integrated Albanian residents who have been politically involved in municipal elections this year.
Symbol of the second generation of Albanian immigrants, Alban was born in Albania and then grew up in Italy where he took his first steps as a singer, before deciding to return to his country to make a definitive breakthrough in his career.
It is the mirror of the Albanians who, thanks to integration, have made it and its presence is the perfect union of the two cultures and children of Albania who have been successful abroad. In fact, to open the evening there will also be emerging Albanian singers of the second generation.
But who is this Albanian pop star?
Class 1982, Alban, born in Lushnja from a family originally from Vlora, at the age of 14 years followed the courageous path of many emigrants to Italy: he embarked with a friend, heading for Italy, without saying anything to his family.
He arrives in Pistoia, where his parents and brothers will join him, and there he starts studying music, taking guitar and singing courses. He has now understood that his way is the seven notes. And he wants to succeed in the field by approaching his motherland, Albania.
Tenacious as only young people know how to be, the goal is the admission to the Top Fest Albania, a competition that has given an affirmation to many unknown singers.
The first successes date back to the second edition, that of the 2005, of Top Fest, in which it makes itself known to the general public with the song 'Vetëm ty' (Only you), which comes in first place. The winner is also the following year, with the song 'Diçka' (Something), in a duet with the Kosovar band Kthjellu.
From then on, success has never abandoned it. In addition to music, he dedicated himself, among other things, to advertising, becoming a Vodafone testimonial, and on TV, joining the X-Factor Albania jury.
Music has also entered his personal life. His wife is Miriam Cani, an albo-German singer known in the 2008 and with whom he presented himself in the 2011 at the Eurovision Song Contest representing Albania.
Now the couple lives in Germany.
