Two appointments for the Albanian President Bamir Topi visiting Turin on November 26, on the occasion of the celebrations for the Albanian national holiday. At the 14.30, the inauguration of the photo exhibition "Albania before and after" at the Intercultural Center of the City of Turin in Corso Taranto 160.The exhibition is divided into two sections: "Before the 1991" which collects black and white images taken from the archive of Dhimokrat Noti, photographer and journalist active in Albania from the '50 to the' 80 'years. The snapshots illustrate some aspects of daily life during the years of the communist regime of Enver Hoxha; The second section instead "After the 1991", offers color images taken by Aldo Pavan photographer journalist and Rosita Ferrato, journalist and writer.
At the gala evening, organized by the Albanian Cultural Center, the president Topi will intervene together with the Mayor Piero Fassino. Followed by the thoughts of the writer Anilda Ibrahimi and the artist Adrian Paci and at the end the concert of the pianist Elda Laro. The journalist Benko Gjata moderates the evening.
This is not Topi's first visit to Turin: his particular connection with the City is known, and in particular with the University, where he received his university and specialization studies in the 80 years. The last Turin visit of the Topirisale president in October 2008. On that occasion he had a meeting at the City Council and the former Mayor, Sergio Chiamparino. During the same visit the Albanian president inaugurated the seat of the Chamber of Commerce of Tirana in Turin and the day continued with the warm welcome that the academic environment of the University and the Rector Ezio Pelizzetti reserved for him.
President Bamir Topi, a member of the Democratic Party (in power in Albania) is known for his balanced positions in the midst of so many tensions that characterize the long Albanian transition. This position has placed him at the center of controversy in recent months with Prime Minister Berisha and the current president of the Albanian Parliament Jozefina Topalli.
