Porti Cittadini, organized by Albania News was held in Modena on Saturday 12 June. It is the first appointment of what we hope will become an annual meeting and saw the participation of almost all the collaborators of the online newspaper, as well as of the present and active Albanian associations.
In the main hall of the Ferrari Center, the day was opened by the representative of the Albanian Embassy, Visar Zhiti, who brought greetings from the embassy. After that it was the turn of Olti Buzi, Alessia Giannoni, Azeb Luca Trombetta and Barbara Burgalassi. Buzi presented Albania News and its role in the creation of the MIER network, a speech later resumed by Azeb, representative of the NETWORK. Alessia Giannoni and Barbara Burgalassi talked about their role in supporting the network.
The morning continued with prof. Giovanni Armillotta, Albania News collaborator who, to the general amazement, illustrated the history of the Albanian newspapers in Italy bringing new facts and certainly leave the sign and the desire to deepen the theme.
It was the turn of Darien Levani (Albania News), Paolo Tomassone (Centro Ferrari) Roberta Vandini (Editor-in-chief of TRC Modena) and Barbara Manicardi (Editor-in-chief, Il resto del Carlino) who offered the busiest debate of the day. The round table, focused on the representation of foreigners in the local media, has seen a large public participation, which has probably become unmanageable. The desire to talk was so much and so were the themes.
After the buffet and the lunch break we continued with the literary meeting planned for 17.00 which saw the participation of Paolo Muner, Antonio Chiazza, Serena Lucani and Visar Zhiti. Some of the best writers and connoisseurs of Albania have brought their experiences and their stories to try to explain the country and its hidden sides during communism. Precious and enlightening, as always, the presence of Visar Zhiti, which we take this opportunity to thank also publicly for his very welcome presence.

The presentation of the Resi Group and Poste Mobile, the official sponsor of the day, followed.
He concluded Olti Buzi and Giulia Bondi, director of Albania News who, even informally, brought and shared his experience with the public.
After the buffet, the meeting resumed in the Crocetta Library, for the conducting of the serial concert, realized in collaboration with Modena Medina. Unfortunately, due to a problem at the last moment, it was not possible to have Linda Rukaj's participation. We would have liked to have her with us, but a series of unfortunate events did not make it possible. To make up for his absence, however, he thought of the other band planned for the evening, the Peppa Marriti Band, a very welcome rock band from Arberesh, accompanied by applause and the regret of the day that was about to end. He danced to the rhythm of Balkan rock, of what emerges from the roots of the past and looks to the future, while toasting, informally, with Skenderbe brandy.
If we have to draw the conclusions of the day, first of all we are pleased to have been able to spend time with our collaborators. Seeing them present gives us the strength and the confirmation that the work we are doing is not only right, but also somehow inevitable. We are pleased to have been able to establish further contact with the associations present and, after all, to have offered a day in which anyone who left the Ferrari Center knew something more than when he had entered. There are many things to do, and few resources. Yet after Saturday, I think we all feel less alone.
