From Monday8 March, the broadcast in Albanian language, "Shqip in Turin", is broadcast on Radio Torino International. From Monday to Friday, an hour and a half of entertainment with cultural, social, political news and the possibility of intervening live.
Turin, one of the liveliest multicultural workshops in Italy. It is from here that "Shqip in Turin" comes to life, a project that aims to open a window on the world of Albanian migrants residing in Italy. Many young people have lived most of their lives in the Bel Paese, an experience that has changed their identity and vision of the world.
And if there is nothing worse than homologation, the path that "Shqip in Turin" chooses to follow is that of mutual discovery, through lenses such as cultural, political and social information. Choice supported by the words of Franco Siddi, General Secretary of the Italian National Press Federation, who last Thursday in Turin did not hide the difficulties the Italian press is facing today, but suggested the reaction to openness to the social and to the challenges of immigration.
Knowledge, therefore, as the keystone of multiculturalism. And the music, to which "Shqip in Turin" will give ample space, as a universal language. Because the Albanians are very attached to the traditional melodies that characterize the various regions of the country or to the light music that managed to survive even during the dark years of the regime. Who among us can deny having been moved by listening to "Wind of change", the flag track of one of the most profound changes in our history? To prove that Music knows no boundaries and that we aspire to become like you.
