The next 27 January, to coincide with the Day of Remembrance, will be screened WELCOME TO ITALY, a documentary film in five episodes and shot with ten hands strongly desired by the Archive of Migrant Memories with the support of the Open Society and Lettera27 Foundations. The screenings will be hosted in the cities of Rome, Milan, Naples, Venice and Verona where the five directors filmed. The choice of 27 January is not accidental, but "wants to be a way of remembering, alongside and together with the memory of the Shoah, the growing need for reflection on the memory of exclusion and rejections that has characterized the past twenty years." of the film, Aluk Amiri, Hamed Dera, Hevi Dilara, Zakaria Mohamed Ali and Dagmawi Yimer come from worlds and paths far apart and were selected independently of their experience in the field of audiovisuals. Many of them had never taken a camera in hand. After a training course, they chose to set the stories in the different contexts of their arrival.
The five short films are a mosaic of small stories united by the search for an internal view on the migrant condition and, together, a composite portrait of Italy and its reception system reflected in the eyes of those arriving.
The national preview will be held on 24 January at the 20: 30 at the Casa del Cinema in Rome, Largo Marcello Mastroianni 1, with invitations reserved for the press and a debate moderated by Giovanni Anversa who will be attended by the authors, Roberto Natale (FNSI) and director Andrea Segre.
The film will be distributed by 27 January 2012 and can be requested on the site: archiviomemoriemigranti.net
